Lockers/Drug Sniffing Dogs Policy

Student lockers are the property of the school and are provided for their use by the school. They should be used to house a student’s textbooks and other school materials when they are not in use, and any coats, overshoes, or other outdoor garments.
Student lockers are subject to inspection for cleanliness, for missing items, for controlled substances, alcohol, and tobacco or for weapons or items considered potentially harmful to any individual. The Principal or his/her designate may enter the locker at any time.
Dogs (drug-sniffing) trained in detecting and finding illegal substances may be used in searching student lockers. Drug-sniffing dogs may also be sued to search vehicles or other items that are brought on to school property or to a school sponsored event.
